Join CURE Childhood Cancer July 6th at 6:00 PM on the beach for the annual Sam Robb Memorial Beach 5K / 1 Mile Fun Run in Ocean City, New Jersey.
The event is held in honor of Sam Robb, a typical teenage boy who loved playing sports. At 6’5″ and 230lbs, Sam was a commanding presence on and off the field and was just starting a promising football career. However, a stress fracture revealed Osteosarcoma in his growth plate and he immediately began treatment. Most people would be despondent or bitter, but not Sam. When it was clear his football career was over, Sam turned his focus to baseball and worked hard to develop the skills of a competitive pitcher.

Sadly, Sam lost his fight in June 25, 2007 when his cancer returned with a vengeance and metastasized in his lungs. The Sam Robb Fund will ensure that his spirit and determination to live life, no matter what the cards may hold, will live on to benefit others. So, too, will his mantra continue to inspired children facing childhood cancer: “Fightin Till the Last Breath.”
The goal of the Sam Robbs is two-fold. Helping to train young pediatric oncologist as well as supporting families in the thick of the battle with childhood cancer.
