CURE Childhood Cancer Events
While our primary focus is on funding research, an important part of our mission is continued support for families who have been touched by childhood cancer. Every year, we host a number of events to help create a strong support network for families of children battling cancer – all while raising money for CURE.
Our five annual events take time out to honor courageous families and special children alike.
|A Tribute to Our Quiet Heroes
Join us for our 11th annual “A Tribute to Our Quiet Heroes” luncheon on September 19, 2015, and help us honor mothers of children who have battled childhood cancer. Click here to learn more.
Take part in our annual 10K/5K/2K, Lauren’s Run, held Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Concourse Office Park in Atlanta, GA. The annual event is hosted by CURE and presented by NCR, in memory of Lauren Zagoria and Lauren Kochman, both of whom lost their battle with cancer. Every year, thousands of runners and walkers participate in this special event. Click here to learn more and register to race.
|CURE Childhood Cancer Annual Picnic
After the Lauren’s Run, it’s a day of laughter and cheer for children fighting cancer and their families as well as Lauren’s Run participants are invited to our CURE Childhood Cancer Annual Picnic. Beginning at 10:45am on Sunday, April 24, 2016, the picnic offers an opportunity for reconnecting and simply-put, a day of fun.
Recognized as one of the city’s premier social and philanthropic events last year, the 2nd Annual Believe Ball sold out before individual tickets were even made available to the public. Six hundred community and corporate elite gathered to honor retired NBC 11Alive news anchor, CURE Board Member, and mother of childhood cancer survivor Jill Becker. The elegant black-tie evening featured a fabulous cocktail reception and silent auction followed by dinner, an awards presentation, live auction and dancing. In its second year, the Believe Ball raised $890,000 to further CURE’s mission. Join us May 14, 2016 as we unite at the St. Regis Atlanta yet again to honor comedian Jeff Foxworthy for his tireless dedication to curing childhood cancer, while raising needed research dollars to improve the survival of children fighting cancer. |CURE’s Kids Conquer Cancer One Day at a Time
Every September, our CURE’s Kids Conquer Cancer One Day at a Time initiative commemorates Childhood Cancer Awareness Month by honoring and remembering special children each and every day. By sharing their individual stories, we hope to inspire others to share our commitment to finding cures.
In addition to these events, CURE is fortunate to have the support of many many individuals, groups and organizations which raise money year after year through their own events in support of our mission.
