Cure Childhood Cancer

Other Programs

20029-194Projects and Playtime at the ZONE

The Zone is a 3,500 square foot retreat for patients at the Scottish Rite campus of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. On the second Wednesday of each month CURE volunteers plan and sponsor a CURE Night at the Zone. Patients and families join CURE staff and volunteers for arts and crafts, games, cookie decorating or other fun activities.

Holiday Angels

For many families battling childhood cancer, the holidays are particularly difficult. The financial burdens of battling the disease often make it difficult to celebrate with gifts and special meals.  CURE’s Holiday Angels step in to provide cheer and support during this time. Working with the social workers at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Children’s Hospital at Memorial University in Savannah and Georgia Regent’s University in Augusta we match donors wishing to sponsor a family with families who have a child diagnosed with cancer.

Tickets for Special Events

From time to time local professional sports teams, corporations and individuals donate tickets to baseball, basketball and hockey games, live theater productions and concerts. When CURE has tickets available, families are contacted by email. Please make sure you update the CURE office if you change your email, home address or phone number in order to receive information regarding available tickets.

Snack Bags for Scottish Rite and Egleston Hospitals

Are you looking for a great volunteer opportunity for your church group, neighborhood, club or organization? Toiletry and Snack Bags are appreciated by families who have an unexpected hospital admission or other unexpected circumstances. Consider hosting a toiletry or food drive and organizing an “assembly day” with your group to create the bags.

Tea At Two

Each day in December, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Scottish Rite and Egleston campuses invite local groups and organizations to donate and serve tasty holiday treats to families who are inpatient or have an appointment or chemotherapy in the clinic. CURE is honored to participate in this program and looks forward to it every year.

Please contact Lisa Branch at Lisa@curechildhoodcancer.org for more information on any of these programs.
