Projects and Playtime at the ZONE
The Zone is a 3,500 square foot retreat for patients at the Scottish Rite campus of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. This amazing area was made possible by the Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation, Troy Aikman Foundation, National Hockey League (NHL) and National Hockey League Players Association (NHLPA). On the second Wednesday of each month CURE staff and volunteers sponsor activities including arts and crafts, cookie decorating, seasonal activities and games.
Holiday Angels
CURE’s Holiday Angels helps families with children battling cancer who are in need of hope during the holidays. Working with the social workers at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, we match donors wishing to sponsor a family with families in need. In doing so, CURE helps to bring joy and hope to these special families.
Tickets for Special Events
From time to time local professional sports teams, corporations and individuals donate tickets to baseball, basketball and hockey games, live theater productions and concerts. When CURE has tickets available, families are contacted by email. Please make sure you update the CURE office if you change your email, home address or phone number in order to receive information regarding available tickets.
Snack Bags for Scottish Rite and Egleston Hospitals
Working with community organizations, churches and individuals, CURE holds food drives for snack bag items that are assembled and given to social workers at both campuses to distribute on an as needed basis. These bags are appreciated by families who have missed a meal due to an unexpected hospital admission or other unexpected circumstances.
Tea At Two
Each day in December, Scottish Rite and Egleston Children’s Hospitals invite local groups and organizations to donate and serve tasty holiday treats to families who are inpatient or have an appointment or chemotherapy in the clinic. CURE is honored to participate in this program and looks forward to it every year.
