CURE Childhood Cancer, Inc. (“we” or “us”) has adopted a set of information management guidelines to demonstrate our organization’s commitment to privacy. These guidelines disclose the information gathering and dissemination policies for the curechildhoodcancer.org Web site (the “Site”). These guidelines have been developed with the recognition that Internet technologies continue to evolve rapidly. Accordingly, these guidelines are subject to change. Any such changes will be posted on this page. Throughout this policy, the term “you” refers to each donor (both online and offline), individual user of this Site and, if applicable to your use, your employer or firm.

What information do we gather and/or track about you?

Registration: We do not currently require registration for you to access the Site.

Cookies: We employ cookies in connection with certain areas of the Site. Cookies tell us which parts of the Site you have visited, help us measure the effectiveness of the Site, and give us insights into user behavior so we can improve our communications. Because cookies are used throughout our Site, disabling them may prevent you from using certain parts of the Site.

IP Addresses: We log IP addresses of visitors for systems administration and troubleshooting purposes. (Your IP address indicates the location of your computer on the Internet.) We do not log IP addresses to track your visits to the Site, nor do we link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable about you.

Credit Card Information: We collect credit card information through the Site for purposes of receiving donations and to facilitate customers’ CURE store purchases. Such credit card transactions are processed by a third-party merchant services vendor. The third-party site that processes donations (Worldpay) uses ssl technology for protection, which protects the CURE donor when entering their transaction.

Security of your Personal Information: We restrict access to personal information collected about you at our website to our employees, our affiliates’ employees, those who are otherwise specified in this Policy, or others who need to know that information to provide services to you or in the course of conducting our business operations or activities. While no website can guarantee security, we maintain appropriate physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your personal information collected via the website. We protect our databases with various physical, technical and procedural measures and we restrict access to your information by unauthorized persons. We also advise all CURE Childhood Cancer employees about their responsibility to protect customer data and we provide them with appropriate guidelines for adhering to our company’s business ethics standards and confidentiality policies. Inside CURE Childhood Cancer, data is stored in password-controlled servers with limited access.

What do we do with the information we gather and/or track?

Statistical Analysis: We may perform statistical analyses of Site user behavior in order to measure interest in the various areas of the Site (for development purposes). Your personal information will not be provided to any third party without your permission.

E-mail: Using the e-mail address you provide when submitting an inquiry or comment, we may contact you regarding your inquiry or comment. We may also send e-mail to you about services we provide. Many of our Site visitors find these e-mail promotions valuable. However, if you would prefer not to receive promotional materials from us, please refer to the “Opting Out” section below.

Data Security: To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, ensure the appropriate use of information and protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information under our control, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic and managerial procedures to protect the information we collect online.

With whom do we share the information we gather and/or track?

We may share the information we gather only within our organization. We will not share or sell a user or donor’s personal information with anyone else, nor send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations. We do not release your individual personal information to third parties without your permission. We will provide you with all of your personal information gathered through the Site upon your written request.
